Tarifa and The drive

Such a cool drive to Tarifa. Amazing coastline all along there from El Palma beach to Punto Los Canos de Mecca where there is this beautiful lighthouse marking the spot where the battle of Trafalgor happened. We found this weird skeleton on the beach. Looked like a whale or soemthing. Also found what looked llike the remains of immigrant boats.

Loads of caravans and campers as people come here to surf and kite surf and travel, you really notice it. One thing I noticed when going for runs a long the beaches is how much shit there is in the forest behind the car parks where everyone parks for free!

Getting to Tarifa at night the apartment we were in was very posh. Which was ok but I actually missed our place in Cadiz it was old had character...Tarifa place was like on a housing estate on the edge of town. Turns it tarifa is super small anyway so it didn’t matter and the actual much more expensive old town was 10 mins walk away. We went for a few drinks in Taco Way. Tarifa is full of cool hot surfer dudes and chicks who spend all day on the beach with a burnt wind swept look and salty sea hair! It’s not the most gay if places and if you don’t like surfing or windsurfing (which turns out is a really expensive sport) it’s not that much fun. TBH me and Jamie ended up spending most of our nights cooking at home and drinking wine together which was pretty fun...that was when I felt most relaxed. I’d forgotten about my app just focused I’m having a good time with Jamie

It was great to have to the car. We travelled around a lot. Went to Bolonia beach, Gibraltar, Ronda and Marbella (for about 10 mins lol)

Bolonia beach was by far the most beautiful places so remote and rugged and wild. Hardly anyone apart from a few naked Germans hiding behind walls of rocks , they like to build little castles on the beach with stones to hide from the sun and spare their leathery dignity!

One place I really missed eating in that i cannot recommend enough was Restaurante El Mirlo - Tarifa
duna, Punta Paloma s/n (Pasando la, 11380 Tarifa, Cádiz

Amazing restaurant near the natural pools great views and fresh fish

Best day was going to the natural pools, covering ourselves in mud you get off the cliffs and bathing in the sea pools created by the rocks and receding tide. The sunsets there are incredible. Like anywhere by the coast.
